TMI Tuesday – Fine Dining

Thank you to Virtual Sin for this week’s TMI Tuesday.

You are having dinner at the best restaurant you can imagine. Do not concern yourself with over-eating, or other restrictions. We want to know what you like best. What will you have for:

These are given as options A. a seafood dinner, B. a meat dinner, C. Asian food

1. Before dinner wine, aperitif, or cocktail?
Wine: A. Barefoot Moscato,
B. Coppola’s Rosso, or
C. hot sake
Cocktail: A. a Bombay Bloody Tom (Bloody Mary with gin instead of vodka),
B. very dirty, very wet Bombay Sapphire martini with pepperocinis instead of olives, or
C. hot sake

2: Appetizer?
A. Fried calamari,
B. stuffed mushrooms, or
C. pork potstickers

3. Soup?
A. clam chowder,
B. basil tomato bisque or beer cheese soup in a bread bowl,  or
C. miso or clear soup.

4. Salad?
A. or B. I like a salad with field greens and baby spinach, sliced grape tomatoes, cucumbers, shredded carrots, chickpeas, broccoli florets, shredded cheese, bacon bits, sunflower seeds, and craisins with bleu cheese dressing.
C. Or ginger salad.

5. Wine or other beverage with dinner?
I almost always drink water with lemon or iced tea (no lemon EVER) with my meals.
And more wine or sake. 🙂

6. Entree?
A. Teriyaki swordfish steak,
B. marinated rare tenderloin filet (beef—topped with blue cheese, grilled onions and mushrooms, or pork—topped with pineapple salsa),
C. an array of sushi rolls, preferably focusing on eel, salmon and white tuna.

7. Side Dishes?
A. steamed and seasoned vegetable medley including broccoli, peppers, zucchini; cheddar garlic biscuits
B. garlic mashed potatoes, steamed broccoli with cheese
C. octopus salad, seaweed salad, edamame

8. Dessert?
A. hot fudge brownie à la mode with caramel topping and whipped cream
B. vanilla bean and white chocolate cheesecake with strawberry topping and whipped cream
C. red bean ice cream

9. After dinner drink?
A. or B. coffee with Bailey’s, Kahlùa, DiSaronno Amaretto, and Frangelico
C. more sake

10. Which 3 people would you invite to dinner: (must be famous, well-known, living or dead, not fictional)

Stephen King, Jon Stewart, Eminem

– For sex appeal
Scarlett Johansson, Ryan Reynolds (although it’s probably not a good idea to have them at dinner together, considering their history), David Navarro

– For great conversation
Neil Gaiman, Samuel L. Jackson, Patrick Carney (from The Black Keys)

– Because you detest them
I would not share a meal with someone I detested.
Bonus: Your lover brings you breakfast in bed. What’s on the tray?

Fresh fruit (blueberries, strawberries, blackberries, bananas, grapes, canteloupe, kiwi), a spinach and mushroom omelet from IHOP, a Belgian waffle with whipped cream, a pumpernickel bagel with cream cheese, lox and capers, Quiche Lorraine, coffee, apple juice, grits with butter and cheese, and ice water

Happy TMI Tuesday!

  1. Jack and Jill

These are great answers, and further evidence that we need to have you for dinner some night. Oops! Did I say “have you for dinner”? I meant “have dinner with you. And then have you for dessert.”

  2. Nicole

Creative! I like that you went with 3 different meal types, because it does really depend on what your are in the mood for.

  3. Vincent Vega

Great answers. I like that you gave a variety. I really wanted to because I had so many choices for each category, but I suffered. One thing this meme is showing me is I have a much simpler palate than a lot of you. I guess I like the simple things in life even if the stuff you mentioned did sound delightful!

  4. sexsational

You have my kind of taste in food! And pretty people. If you have Ryan Reynolds at dinner, please please please tell me. (Both my partner and I have wistfully sighed, “Ryan Reynolds is so dreamy…” It’s weirder when he says it than when I do.)
